The servants of Antichrist are ruthless with one another. Zebal helps set up Gaal for destruction at the hands of Abimelech. Zebal is not rewarded for his fealty as we will see later on in the narrative! Gaal betrays Abimelech, and Zebul betrays Gaal in a circle of treachery. Abimelech will heed Zebul's warning and surround Schechem with his army. Rebellious movements against God and his law always end in death and destruction!
