In uncertain and unstable political times, it is good to know that we can set our hope on what is steady and unchanging – the character of God and His eternal kingdom. We can always find hope in Him. His rule is characterized by a “throne of grace,” where we can come and find grace and mercy in time of need. All Christians, then can be unify as we strive to set our affection above on His rule, and His eternal Kingdom. We can and must promote His administration with all our hearts and lives. Consider Paul's appeal:
"Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits at God's right hand in the place of honor and power. Let heaven fill your thoughts. Do not think only about things down here on earth. For you died when Christ died, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your real life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory" (Colossians 3:1-4 NLT).
In this sermon, we consider how God is active in the world always and that Jesus’ promise to build His kingdom is being fulfilled despite all that the gates of hell would strive to throw against it.
