We recommence our series through Mark's gospel this Sunday with readings from Mark 6:30-56 and Mark 7:24-8:26. Despite the miraculous and abundant provision to feed thousands, the disciples are repeatedly concerned with a lack of bread. Jesus on the other hand is far more concerned with the lack of faith in those around him. This serves as a lesson and a warning for all who follow Jesus, both then and now– God provides all that is needed, but only those with eyes of faith can see this to be true. Only eyes of faith will see Jesus for who he really is. So, beware of the leaven of unbelief shown by Herod and the Pharisees.
