Systematic Theology is simultaneously the culmination of the development of our theology (at the top of the trunk of our tree) AND the foundation and grounding of all the ministry that sprouts from that trunk.
We discuss the purposes of Systematic Theology and also compare and contrast it with Biblical Theology. We also consider what drives the justifiable need for new Systematic Theologies to be written and published. Issues arising from the wider culture that the church has never had to directly address before require us to address them clearly in new ways, not by changing our theology, but by using our theology to properly address them even if they've never been specifically addressed before.
Additionally, we give an example of how to use Systematic Theology to our advantage as we encounter certain passages of Scripture.
