Whenever the church, as the church, has attempted to force its views on the pagans around them, she has tended to trade the gown of the Bride of Christ (Revelation 21) for the attire of the Whore of Babylon (Revelation 17).
The moral standards of society change as a fruit of revival and never by the church attempting to force her ways on outsiders.
