Jesus said, "Behold, a greater than Solomon is here." (Luke 11:31)
Here's a tip. When Jesus speaks, we should cling upon every word. And when He speaks of someone or something, we ought to make it our business to find out why He highlighted a person over another. So I'm going to take the lead and give you a portion of the setting of this Queen and her encounter with the splendor and glory of Solomon. • "And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the king's wisdom and the wonders of his kingdom... there was no more spirit in her. And SHE said to Solomon, 'It WAS a true report that I heard in my own land of your acts and of your wisdom. HOWEVER, I believed NOT the words, until I came, and my eyes had seen it: and, behold, the HALF was not told me: your wisdom and prosperity EXCEEDS the fame which I heard. HAPPY are your men, HAPPY are these your servants, which stand continually BEFORE you, and that HEAR your wisdom.'" (1 Kings 10:4-8) • The Lord Jesus said that this woman, the queen of the South, the Queen of Sheba (1 Kings 10), will rise in the day of judgement and condemn a generation of unbelievers, whose response to King Jesus falls short of her take on Solomon. Why? Because Jesus is GREATER than Solomon... and all others combined. (Luke 11:31) • The Queen of Sheba was drawn to a great King by what she HEARD, delighted in what she SAW of his wisdom and wealth and delivered by who she BELIEVED.
Solomon was great... but He was no Jesus.
Solomon was a great King... but Jesus is the King of kings.
Solomon possessed great wisdom... but Jesus is the wisdom of God.
Solomon shared a great word from God... but Jesus is the Word of God.
