We had a good day today of service, fellowship, worship and preaching. We pray that we will see some fruit from this morning's preaching in that one or two people would give themselves more to serving God. We just pray that some people's eyes would be opened; some are so blinded by the world, material things and aspirations, to that they cannot see what is really important. The results from the evening's preaching will not be seen by men, as we preached on prayer. But we trust God honored the preaching of His Word, and today's preaching will not be without result. Children's church was decently attended today. Next week they will be starting a contest that will end with the new year. The kids (and the teachers, who planned it all on their own!) seem to be excited about it.Our translator translated for the first time today. She is not an experienced translator, so she was nervous. She seems to have a genuine concern to do a good job. Our translator is a 50 year old woman that came to our church about a month ago. She first called on the phone, having gotten our number from somebody we don't even know. God had prepared her heart to humbly accept the Gospel. She is a lawyer by profession, and very sharp. But mainly she seems to be very sincere, and surprisingly humble and open to God's Word. People like that are so rare, so God's hand in her coming when she did seems very evident. Of course, she is a brand new Christian and needs our prayers and support, but I believe our church people have a very good spirit and will be a help to her. We need to find a new place to baptize this next week. The place we have used in the past did away with their baptistry. This next week will be a busy one as we prepare to leave a week from Monday. Thank you for you prayers for us. We look forward to seeing many of you soon. In His Service, Jason |

An Uphill BattleI was encouraged recently as I read of David Brainerd's ministry among the Indians. The state of the Indians during the first part of his ministry is mirrored by the people of Mongolia today. The Indians were too busy to stop and...[ abbreviated | read entire ] |
