1. The difference between the indicatives and imperatives is very vital to a faithful preaching, teaching of the gospel and also to the matter of true faith.
2. Because making that distinction is very important, I will not assume that everyone knows what that means.
3. The indicatives-indicate the redeemed's status before God in Christ. It is what God has indicated to be true about us in Christ.
4. The indicative is wholly found in the doing of God, of Christ and the Holy Spirit and what Christ alone did is the basis of righteousness and holiness that God imputes freely to the elect.
5. On the B side of things and that is Ephesians 4 to 6 we have the THEREFORE that comes from one being saved.
6. And this respect the commands or exhortations. Doing the commands is not the basis of salvation, in other words, does not cause salvation, does not cause righteousness or holiness, because we still suck at doing them.
7. This is a very good closing of the book of Ephesians and I highly encourage that one also listen to the Part 1 of this epilogue.
