Great Writing! Charles Spurgeon here exhorts us to "Behold the Man!" He points people to Jesus Christ.
He concludes by saying, "If we would grow in grace, it must be by considering his humiliation and his sorrow. If we would live holily, it must be by the contemplation of his sin-atoning death."
Amen and Amen!
Great Sermon! Loved this message on Jonathan Edward’s example in living our life with an eternal perspective. These resolutions are ones that I want to remember and to “live with eternity stamped on my eyeballs.” I’m so thankful for Steve Lawson’s ever faithful preaching.
Outstanding Message!! This is one of the finest messages on Satan. There is so much wrapped up into this sermon that it's hard to summarize but this is definitely worth listening to, not just once but several times. It is power-packed and thank God for Dr. Lawson. He is one of the finest preachers we have today.
Great Sermon! Wonderful sermon! I love his passion for the Lord; makes me think of the Puritans preaching. He preaches the Truth; Jesus Christ is the Truth and the only True Life we can ever have.
Great Sermon! Pastor MacArthur, Thank you for being the Shepherd that you are so knowledgeable! Your sermons are my greatest resource when I am feeling sad or happy mad. Please please don’t ever get rid of your GTY app. I listen nightly and am having my two year old too. Thank you.
Great Sermon! I haven't found a place to hear this kind of message, today, in this 21st century,
I would love to know if it's possible to purchase these messages in written form?????
Great Sermon! I’ve listened to this message several times and passed it on to many. Such a great encouragement to put “your shoulder to the plow” and press on for the work of the Lord, wherever he has placed you. Grateful for Dr. Lawson’s biblical teaching!
Puzzled dear dr lawson,
as faith is a gift from God, the recipients foreordained thus, driving the chosen to the kingdom and working in them the miracle of justification, salvation and glorification - how is it that so much emphasis is placed on man's 'choosing'? even in the same sermon! would that not be totally contradictory? how should the Christian respond?
in Christ
We need truth! Not entertainment! It's obvious from his sermon, that there are fellow ministers in the audience, who will be thinking: He doesn't understand! People won't sit for a long sermon. They don't want a long Bible reading. They want a worship band, and The Holy Gospel Dance troupe. You know who won't sit for a long sermon? Goats! The sheep want sermons. They want Bible reading. They want prayer meetings.
Yes, they can keep making the church like the world, and get bigger congregations...but they aren't Christians. What will happen, pastors, if you stop catering to the world? The goats will get bored and leave. You're right about that. But the sheep will spread it through the grapevine: Guess What!!! My pastor has started to preach!! Just preach the word preacher, and let God and the Holy Spirit worry about filling the church. Did Jesus encourage the mega church? No. He understood exactly why they were there. He didn't want an audience. He wanted disciples. Please pastors, preach to the sheep! Someday you'll be thankful you did: When the Lord says, Well done my good and faithful servant.
In the meantime, why do you think the sheep are sitting at home watching SermonAudio and YouTube? It's the only way they can be fed. The goats are busy watching Pentecost, the musical with the Tongues of fire danc
Great Sermon! Many scriptural proofs concerning the Sovereignty of God in all things are found in this sermon. Listen to it and study the scriptures that are given!!!
Great Sermon! Listened 3 times now! “Your life is like an hourglass that has been turned upside down. There’s only so much time left and you must do what the Lord has called you to do now.” Dr. Steve Lawson
This message was amazing, reminding me of how precious and short our time is to be doing the work of Christ...
“God has assigned each of us a work to do and as long as we are breathing that work is not finished. ”
