Are We Saved by Repentance?

“ Good Repentance Passage ”
Here's a good passage refuting this idea that repentance is not repenting of sin. Acts 8:22-23 ESV REPENT, therefore, OF THIS WICKEDNESS OF YOURS, and pray to the Lord THAT, IF POSSIBLE, THE INTENT OF YOUR HEART MAY BE FORGIVEN YOU. [23] For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity."

“ Interesting ”
Unsure that Paul's 'anathema' to those preaching "another gospel" (Gal. 1:8) means eternal damnation or temporal. Historically, there has always been this controversy: eternal or temporal destruction/judgement. With the latter holding sway given the context of his preceding verses (Gal. 1: 6-7), suggesting that even the apostles were capable of distorting, and also given the context of Acts 23: 14.1 and Cor 16:22. The point Paul that was emphasizing regarding his well known 'anathema' is, in my view, that should we learn of anyone teaching and/or preaching "another gospel", a false one, that we should avoid them, akin to their having a deadly contagious disease.

“ one question, great sermon ”
I think the baptist baptizes based on the person's confession of faith. Baptists are not saying they should discern the tares from the wheat.

“ Great Sermon! ”
So glad to hear someone addressing false teachers and gospels. Just because someone is smooth talking, and appears caring and loving, doesn't mean they bring you the gospel. Or the truth! It's scary! I lost a gospel believing friend to modernism because she loved her gay brother and couldn't reconcile his sin with the gospel of repentance, and holy and blameless living (Eph 1:4). Thank God that us "EX GAYS" have finally begun to come out and demonstrate the power of the true gospel. Thank you for fighting for the TRUTH, our JESUS and Him alone! NO COMPROMISE!
